CCC trains community peer educators

The Caribbean Conference of Churches (CCC), in collaboration with the Ethiopian Orthodox Church will be holding its first ever Graduation Ceremony for Community Peer Educators at the Ethiopian Orthodox Church Hall, Old Golden Grove Road, Arouca, Saturday 18 th September, 2004 starting at 3:00 pm

The Graduation Ceremony takes place after a series of initiatives aimed at educating persons on current social issues which impact upon them personally as well as on a wider community level

These initiatives took the form of training and education programmes which lasted for six sessions over a nine week period.

Among issues addressed during the training sessions were, HIV/AIDS, family life issues, violence and drug demand reduction.

The programme ended on August 14 th , 2004

Senator Joan Yuille Williams, Minister of Community Development, Culture and Gender Affairs is expected to address the gathering.
